Indoor Bowls
The penultimate round took place on Wednesday, 18th March at the Stafford Grammar School Sports Hall.
The final games are due to be played on Wednesday, 25th March after which the players are invited to partake of refreshments in the central area of the squash and badminton hall
where a temporary bar and seating area has been arranged, pending the rebuilding of the club house which was destroyed by fire at the turn of the year.
After the final games, the winners will be announced and the prizes presented by Alan Hancock, the host and organiser of the Manor Indoor Bowls.
Alan, many thanks again for the slick organisation and easy atmosphere!
As the table shows, division 1 goes down to the wire with only a point in favour of the leaders, Parsons and Robinson, and 11 shots in favour of the second placed Waddison and Williams.
Webster and Glaister will be relegated after a year in the top division and will be joined by White and Bullbrook.
Division 2 was settled on Wednesday when both the top two teams were victorious and the Knowles will be crowned champions on Wednesday and gain promotion to division 1 next winter.
Also promoted are the Lynes with their huge aggregate advantage.
Third place is still up for grabs with 4 teams in contention.
Outdoor Bowls
The Ladies A and B teams for the Locks and Latches Monday night league hold their pre-season dinner at the Crown, Hyde Lea this coming Monday, 23rd March.
This is being organised by Marion Pearson, the Ladies B captain. Partners and spouses are also invited. Should be a good crack!
