Little Elves Christmas Appeal 2021

I hope you are all well and that you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year; it seems a long time ago now. I’m gradually working my way through all the emails from people who contacted us before Christmas with offers of support; we had a tremendous response.

This email is to thank you so much for your wonderful donations and for all that you do for us throughout the year. All the people we work with at the refuge and via our outreach programme received everything they needed for the festive season. We had some lovely items donated and we were extremely grateful for the vast amount you brought to our office. If you follow our Facebook page, I hope you saw some of the photographs we posted (I’ve included the link below in case you’d like to follow us).

We were able to:
• Provide 16 families in refuge with Christmas dinner, presents for every woman and child and a range of activities
• Provide 60 festive hampers to vulnerable families in the community
• Provide advent calendars to over 100 children
• Provide gifts and festive treats to over 100 women/children/families in the community
• Restock our Pantry with food, cleaning products and toiletries and our Clothes Bank with clothing, bedding, towels and household items

We have received many thank yous from the people we support but it’s difficult to share them due to confidentiality, but we thought we would share this, from one of our service users:

“I just wanted to say that I used your services in the past. I learned a lot about basic human rights and how to learn to be a person again. I’m still on that journey and days are still tough sometimes but I’ll never forget that lesson and I often use it to help others. I wanted you all to know how important you all are in these women’s lives and to thank you for the hard work you put in to make a difference” JJ

And I just wanted to finish with a personal message to you; just a big thank you from everyone here at SWA and whatever 2022 brings I hope that it is a healthy and happy one for you and those close to you.
